Balmoral Beach | Outdoor Newborn Photo Shoot

Bec and her husband Michael opted for an outdoor newborn shoot with 10 weeks old Archie

I wanted beautiful moments of my family. Initially, my husband Mike didn't want any photos done but I told him how important it was to me to have some memories of our family with Archie being a baby, plus we don't have any photos of the three of us. Once he saw the photos, he commented on how beautiful they were.

We had our photoshoot in Balmoral early in the morning and the lighting and day couldn't have been more perfect. During the photoshoot, Elena told us how much she liked having us close together as possible so there were "no gaps" and I could see in the photos how just doing this positioning showed such great connection as a family. I'm so very pleased with the photos!

My biggest concern was the weather, being an outdoor shoot, I wanted perfect weather. There was terrible for weeks during the time I wanted the photos done and I discussed my concerns with Elena. Luckily the morning of the shoot did not disappoint as later in the day the weather turned.

The experience was very easy and relaxed. Elena was very helpful with getting us in the right positions. Archie is a pretty chilled baby so he was good during the shoot. I wish he smiled as he has such a great smile but I'm glad that Elena was able to get his big beautiful brown eyes which I wanted. It was only really towards the end of the shoot Archie started to get bit cranky and tired.

My favourite photo, in particular, is one of the three of us. The photo is glowing and full of warmth with the lighting from the sun directly behind us. Mike and I are leaning in kissing Archie on the head whilst Archie is looking directly at the camera. It is such a beautiful and precious photo that really pulls my heartstrings.

Family photos are such priceless treasures. You may start to forget how important it is to capture such lifetime moments. I think it's just so lovely to have photos captured so you can look back and share them with your loved ones. I'll definitely miss Archie being so little.
