Beach Family Photos

Fun, relaxed photos on the beach with one-year-old Leo

My wife wanted a newborn photo shoot for Leo...however life, and Covid got in the way. The shoot just didn't happen until he was one year old. However, we feel this was a blessing and thanks to Elena, the shoot and photos were wonderful. Leo was so vibrant and interactive and we feel he had such a great time playing in the sand while taking the photos.

I came across Elena purely by chance via a Google search looking for Sydney based Family Photographers. I checked over her gallery and loved her photography style - I ran it by my wife and we were set.

Elena made us feel so comfortable and her style of photography meant we were mostly just having fun on the sand as a family. Apart from school photos back in the day or Santa photos, I have not really spent any time with professional photographers so I wasn't sure what to expect. At first, I was mildly nervous, Keira too, and I wasn't really a fan of the public setting, however the nerves quickly melted away. She did direct us a little, but it was so friendly and casual, by the end I was ready to book another shoot, we all really had a lot of fun.

My wife Keira wanted a beachside setting, and it turned out so well. Looking through Elena's gallery, I pointed out the photos that we liked, so Elena suggested the same location. She gave us some recommendations on what to wear, but generally the outfits we wore were our own choices.

Personally, when I look at the photos, specifically of ones with Leo and Keira in focus, it reminds me of how lucky I am to have such a wonderful family. My drive in life comes from wanting to provide them with the best life I possibly can, so generally they serve as a personal reminder/motivator.

To get such a special moment captured in the quality that we did is something we'll have to keep for a lifetime. My favourite photos are of us walking hand in hand as a family through the sand with Leo in the middle. I remember Leo was so happy. He is not yet walking on his own, but I think it's the first time we did that on the beach as a family, it was very special.

If having photos taken is something you're considering, life happens too fast to wait. I feel there is no downside to it, I can't see it being something you would regret, especially with Little Manly Photography. Elena was spectacular and her photos are amazing.

We're both very glad to have had photos done at this age. In five or ten year’s time, I will definitely miss Leo as a one year old. It's been such a wonderful period in his life and he has changed so much already.
